March of the Fifty

28th October 2018

March of the Fifty

In 2018, Hugglescote and Donington le Heath Parish Council again engaged Spiral Projects to work with them to create an event to mark the end of the war.  Following on from previous work, it seemed fitting to re-create their march from Hugglescote Church to Coalville train station.  Llynda worked with over 30 volunteers and 12 organisations to create the event.  In addition, 50 men, 3 officers and a regimental mascot also needed to be found. The event was funded by Hugglescote and Donington le Heath Parish Council and also privately by donations from people involved. Here is a short documentary showing how we did it.  The event has already won a number of Heritage Awards.
